The Twin Lights site has a small staff of state employees. To "keep the lights on," the Friends of Twin Lights volunteers help whenever and wherever we can. The Twin Lights have been supported by this organization for more than a half-century.
Volunteers are an integral part of daily operations of the Twin Lights. Often they are the first to meet and greet visitors. They educate, inform and organize-working in the Museum, Gift Shop and elsewhere on-site. Their contributions enhance the experience for more than 80,000 visitors a year and help the Twin Lights Museum achieve its goals.
Pick a position that suits your skills and interests:
Meet and greet visitors at the foot of the North Tower; Work in the Museum Store; Provide basic history.
Put your office skills to work in a critical support role; catalogue artifacts using museum software.
Get involved with weekend and after-school activities, from creation to implementation; a wonderful chance to connect with kids.
Help the staff give guided tours of the lighthouse; provide visitors with information on the exhibits throughout the site.
Represent the Twin Lights at local festivals, fairs and other events
